Etsy Love - Olympic Edition

When I first decided I wanted to look around Etsy for Olympic stuff, I had no idea what I'd find. To be honest, there's a lot of crap. (Sadly, Regretsy is no longer a site. Good news, snarky people: I found a new one to troll) But there are some good finds if you have the patience to wade through the muck.

These earrings are lovely! Laurel wreaths for you, because you're a winner of something.

Know an ice hockey fan? Cuff links for the win!

Looking for a new bag to tote your medals around? This one will even keep them warm.

Plan ahead and get a pretty ice skate ornament for your next tree. You can't lose!

Etsy Love - Valentine's Day Cards

via

I have not done one of these in a very long time, but I've been thinking about getting back to some Etsy Love for a while, and today I'm taking the plunge. Believe it or not, Valentine's Day is in two point five weeks. I haven't really given it any thought, but I know there are people out there who are way more on top of these things than I am. Here are some fun cards I found for some of my favorite girlfriends.

via
Oh, Friends, I love you and miss you. Claire, you're still the one.

via
Mallory, I know you're married and all now, but, well, this just seems like you.

via
Emily & Wintana, this one seems appropriately nerdy. and nice.

via
Bobbie, this one won Most Creative, i.e. not using "ewe."

via
As for Mr Official Taster, well, he'd probably get something like this if I didn't make him one

Etsy Love - Summer, Preserved

Organic Tomato Pepper Basil Jam via
If you haven't quite worked your way up to canning, or you had to do it when you were younger and just don't want to do it anymore, or you don't have access to great produce, Etsy can take care of it for you. I've never heard of tomato pepper basil jam, but the photo and Mirasol Farm's description make me want to try it.

Blackberry Jelly via

There are many, many sellers to choose from. I haven't tried any of these personally, but they have beautiful photos and delicious looking products. The color of this blackberry jelly from The Summer Kitchen makes my mouth water.

Georgia White Peach Jam via
Peaches from Georgia? That's like apples from Washington or lobsters from Maine. Seems like DaniJamz has the right idea.

Strawberry Pineapple Jam via

HopesPantry claims these are a taste of heaven. Can't hurt to try! I imagine that any of these beauties would make a bagel or piece of toast much more exciting.

Etsy Love - Garden Finds

First up, from my neck of the woods, a minimalist planter from andrewsreclaimed
It's about that time of year when gardeners start getting their collective acts together and figure out what they are going to plant this year. Start seeds, sketch layouts, redo layouts, pour over newly released gardening magazines, etc. So in that spirit, today's love goes out to some garden related items you can purchase via Etsy.

An adorable succulent necklace from WoodlandBelle

A packet of cheerful Gloriosa Daisy seeds from FlorentineGardens

24 lovely succulents from SucculentsGalore
Are you planning a garden this year? I had a lovely space in our last apartment, but, sadly, this time I don't. I'm going to have to wait to see where the sun goes before I can plan to grow even basic herbs. Hopefully you have a better spot!

Etsy Love - Paper

Flower Bloomers Cupcake Wrappers via iecreations
Some of you out there who are tuned into this sort of thing know that 1st Anniversary presents are traditionally paper, so I thought it would be fitting to showcase some lovely paper crafts from Etsy to continue the blogiversary celebration.  I love the simple classiness of these cupcake wrappers. They would certainly dress up any party!

3D Wall Butterflies via BugsLoft
I love these card stock beauties! I think they'd be a great addition to a girl's room or maybe above a desk.

Quilt Applique Collection via ArtGalleryRiverRd
I almost always find quilt art eye-catching, and this lovely cut out is exceptional. This is hand cut, folks! No fancy laser cutting here.

Spring Time All Year via paperNplastic
Who doesn't love cherry blossoms? These bright flowers can defy the seasons and keep spring around eternally.

Last, but not least, I want to remind you to enter my giveaway! It closes Saturday (that's tomorrow) at midnight. To enter, all you need to do is check out my Etsy store and leave a comment on the giveaway post. It's super easy, and the winner gets free fudge out of the deal.

Etsy Love - Halloween Kitchen

I know it's been a while since I've posted Etsy treasures for your viewing pleasure, but today's is pretty fun, so I'm hoping you will forgive the lapse. Whether you use these wine charms for a party or just to decorate your evening glass, they're sure to cheer you up. (and yes, that pun was intended)

I love that this festive apron is nice and short. Cuter that way, no? It even has a shipping rebate.

If you're like me, you have lots of strange things on the fridge. Maybe new magnets will inspire some organization?

How cute is this spoon? It's small, but maybe having it will inspire some baking magic. Chocolate Pumpkin Cake, anyone?

This soap bottle could add some charm to even the scariest sink.

Etsy Love - Tea Towels

Today's Etsy Love is all kitchen towels. I don't know about you, but I go through kitchen towels really fast. It seems there's always a pile ready to be added to the next load of laundry. I try to avoid using paper towels, so I use my cloth ones for everything from drying my hands to cleaning up the tea I spilled. This organic cotton tea towel - summer pennant print makes every day a party! katherinejlee picked a nice rainbow of colors to brighten your kitchen, and it's even organic.

I can't resist a cute frog. Especially in a tea cup. This particular Hand printed Tea Frog tea towel from DesignKitty is actually a misprint because the colors don't line up, but I kind of like it that way.

I had to include this Historic San Diego Street Car Marquee Tea Towel, No. 16 Line from DecorumSD. This towel would be great for someone who gets married or honeymoons here in San Diego, a hostess gift, anyone who likes traveling or street cars (even those not named Desire)...the list goes on.

How cute is this Matryoshka Tea Towel? PonyandPoppy has a lot of great ones to choose from, but this is a nice teal (it's hard to find good teals) and just plain fun.

Etsy Love - Mixing Bowls

Who doesn't love a pretty bowl? They're useful for cookies, cupcakes, and, when you're feeling virtuous, fresh fruit. I have a weakness for pretty pottery, so putting this collection together let me indulge a little. This nice turquoise bowl up top is made by one of my local Etsians. Someday I'll get myself to the Vista farmers' market and introduce myself.

Next is this cute little spouted bowl, which it's creator touts as perfect for whisking eggs. It even comes with a whisk. I think it would be good for the liquid portion of cake batter before it becomes cake batter. This bowl's interior color captured my attention immediately! I love how unassuming the outside comes across but the inside just wows. This spouted bowl has a handle for extra handiness. I love the glaze layers, and, I think, for anyone worried about the weight of the bowl, the handle should help alleviate that fear.

Finally, a spring green vegetarian bowl lets everyone know where you stand. It could also be useful for serving mixed veggie/not dishes at a dinner party to allow people to tell what's what.

Etsy Love - Cupcake Toppers

Today's treasures are super cute cupcake toppers, which I think are such a fun way to quickly and easily decorate a bunch of little cakes. See something you like? Time for a party! The butterflies above are completely edible and completely awesome! I love how lifelike they are and the little bit shine on their wings.

I'm not really a circus kind of gal, but I couldn't resist these adorable animals! They each have their own personality. The lion is my favorite.

Now these? Customized edible icing decals? Sweet! Kids (and not kids) love having things made just for them. It's even better when there is sugar involved.

Sad, but true. These toadstools make me think of Mario Brothers and I want them.

Etsy Love - picnic quilts

To celebrate the beautiful weekend it is AND that it's Memorial Day weekend, I found some quilts on Etsy that are perfect for picnics on the beach, at the park, or in your own backyard. There are certainly fancier quilts out there to buy, but I wouldn't want most of them in the mud. But on my bed? Only if mom makes me one!

I like each of these quilts (links at the bottom) for different reasons. I love the happy rainbow colors of this top one. Casual, comfortable, and summery.

This blue quilt is waterproof! What a great idea to use ski-wear fabrics. Smart. Very smart.

Now, this third quilt has a sense of humor I can't ignore. PLUS it's made out of old jeans AND there are even pockets. How fun!

I hope you're having a fun weekend! I went to the farmers' market this afternoon, which always brightens my day. What are you up to?

Etsy Love - cake stands

Even before I opened my very own Etsy store, I enjoyed browsing. It's very easy to waste time hopping from store to store, adding things to my mental wishlist, and actual favorites list.

As you may have figured out (or know for sure), I have a bit of a sweet tooth. Or maybe several sweet teeth. I see nothing wrong with eating brownies for breakfast, crisp for lunch, and cupcakes for dinner. Throw some cake (recipe coming soon!) in there, and, to me, it sounds like a good day.

So it seemed only fitting to do this first post of favorite Etsy discoveries all about cake stands. It turns out there are a lot of really ugly ones out there, but these four are my favorites. What about you? Did I miss any gems?

From top to bottom, find them here:
